Privacy Policy
Last updated: 25 March 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use this website, platform, and community (the “Service”). We aim to keep this straightforward and respectful of your privacy.
1) Information We Collect
a) Account and Identity Information
When you create an account or access the Service, we collect information such as your Discord user ID, Discord username, avatar, and server roles. This information is retrieved via Discord OAuth when you log in for authentication and to determine your membership tier (e.g. Member, Course, Premium, Profitable, Mentorship).
b) Community Content You Provide
We collect the content you submit, such as chat messages, trade reflections, journal entries (including shared journals), checklist items, daily bias votes, quiz responses, reactions, uploaded images, and links (including YouTube/video links). This content may be visible to others depending on the area you post in and your membership tier.
c) Technical and Usage Data
We may automatically collect basic technical data such as IP address, device/browser type, pages accessed, and timestamps. This helps maintain security and improve performance.
d) Cookies / Local Storage
We may use cookies or similar storage for login sessions and basic preferences. Cookies are small text files stored on your device. You can usually control cookie settings through your browser.
2) How We Use Your Information
- To operate the Service (login, access control, posting, saving checklists and journal entries, displaying trade days, recording bias votes, delivering quizzes, and managing mentorship features).
- To maintain community safety (moderation, abuse prevention, enforcing Terms).
- To improve features and user experience (performance, bug fixes, usability).
- To communicate service-related notices (important changes, security issues).
3) Legal Basis (General)
Depending on your location, we process data based on legitimate interests (running and securing the Service), contract necessity (providing access you requested), consent (where required), and compliance with legal obligations.
4) Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information:
- With service providers who help run the Service (hosting, storage, analytics), under confidentiality obligations.
- For legal reasons if required by law, court order, or to protect rights/safety of users and the Service.
- In a business transfer (e.g., merger, acquisition), where user data may be transferred as part of the business assets.
5) Visibility of Community Posts
Content you post in community areas (such as chats, reactions, and bias votes) may be visible to other members depending on their membership tier. Journal entries may be shared via a public link at your discretion. Moderators and admins can see posted content for moderation purposes. Do not post sensitive personal information such as passwords, personal banking details, or highly private data.
6) Data Retention
We retain data as long as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our Terms. You may request deletion of your account and associated content where feasible; some records may be retained for security and auditing.
7) Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including access controls and basic security practices. However, no system is 100% secure. Use the Service at your own risk and protect your login credentials.
8) Uploaded Images and Links
If you upload images, they may be stored via our cloud storage provider (Supabase) and displayed in the Service. Images may be automatically converted to optimized formats (e.g. WebP) for performance. If you share links (including YouTube links), those links are handled by third parties when opened. Third-party websites have their own privacy practices.
9) Your Choices and Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to object to certain processing. To make a request, contact us at info@thetradingwebsite.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
10) Children’s Privacy
The Service is not intended for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can take appropriate action.
11) International Users
If you access the Service from outside the country where our servers or operator are located, your information may be processed and stored in those locations. By using the Service, you acknowledge this cross-border processing may occur.
12) Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this policy occasionally. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
13) Contact
For questions or privacy requests, contact us via email at info@thetradingwebsite.com.
